About the LDDC Press Releases

On the approach to its winding up the LDDC produced a CD-ROM containing Paperport (.max) copies of some 1330 Press Releases it issued over the 17 years of its life. These represent a valuable source of contemporary information about the work of the Corporation. Thus over the years the files have been saved in later versions of the Paperport software and also in Acrobat .pdf format. About 230 of the more important ones are available via our -

But generally the Press Releases are too numerous to make available online. They have, however, been listed and catalogued - see Index below - or, for easier searching, download ourExcel Spreadsheet (260kb) *. Where individual Releases are required for serious study we are happy to make available (by e-mail) Acrobat (.pdf) copies of individual releases (no more than 6) - please complete and submit the on-line below form .

Alternatively, if you would like a full set of the Releases (in either Acrobat .pdf format and/or Paperport v 8 .max files), we can send a CD-Rom. To obtain a copy send a blank CD-R disc together with a stamped addressed "Jiffy" (or similar bag) and the copying charge of £5. To obtain the address please e-mail.

Notes:

(1) The areas given in the "Location" column of the Index are the areas defined for the LDDC's phased completion and dedesignation programme- see map. The "Isle of Dogs" included South Poplar, East India Dock and Leamouth.

(2) Where an item refers to more than one area the name of the Borough is used or, if it refers to more than one Borough, the category "Docklandswide" is used.
